Here are the pictures from our wedding reception! Please wait for them to load; they're worth it! (Go read a book or watch a movie or something! *grin*)
Here's the bride's table, the bride's cake, the cake toppers, and Robert and me cutting the cake. We used his dagger to cut with. The cake was white chocolate on the bottom, lemon on the next, Mexican vanilla on the next up, and chocolate fudge on the top keepsake layer. The white chocolate was so good, I accidentaly bit Robert's fingers!
Here are three pics of us toasting. The clear glasses were a gift at my bridal shower, and the cobalt blue glasses were loaned to us by one of my mother's friends, who got them at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament.
And now, for the groom's cake! Solid chocolate fudge! It was made to look like a Celtic cross.
These are my 3 cousins on my dad's side - Casey, Joe, and Ashley - with my brother, Charles, and me.
Here's me throwing the bouquet. My cousin Ashley had the advantage of height, being about 6 feet tall!
Now for the garter! This actually stems from ancient tradition. After the wedding, the Medieval bridal couple would go off to consumate their marriage. The guests would sometimes assist with the undressing. Eventually, it really got out of hand, and the bride would throw a piece of her clothing to distract the guests while the couple made their escape. My garter was made by my mother to match my dress, out of the same brocade material, edged in ivory lace and a tartan ribbon. Anthony, the best man, caught it (also being gifted in the height department! *grin*)
Here's my friend Sherri making bubbles.
Here's a bunch of the contestants in our Rock Throwing Contest - adapted from the ancient Highland Games.
Here's Anthony toasting us. It was actually very heartfelt and sincere!
And last, but DEFINITLY not least, Robert and I trying to "undecorate" my car. The guys put Crisco under the dor handles, ballons in the car, silly string and green paint all over the windows, tin cans from the bumper, and wrapped the whole thing up in saran wrap. I STILL had traces of green paint and Crisco tracks on my car after 3 car washes and a lot of rain!
