Stuff about me that might interest you...Or maybe not...
Personal Profile
Ok...personal stuff...well...
I'm 27 years old, going to be 28 on March 31. A former job was teaching choir at Everman Jr. and Sr. High Schools...this is just south of Ft. Worth, for those who don't know. I've discovered that teaching is not for me however. It takes a speacial breed of person who can teach; they have to be able to do 10,000 things at once, including controlling children (but allowing them to learn and grow), cooperate with parents and administration, comply with polocies and procedures, and a whole mess of other things. And all for a salary that would qualify me for food stamps in several places. *sigh* Well, I've decided that I should get paid more for doing something that I enjoy, so I am currently a Graphic Illustrator using Macintosh. This is SO much more fun, and I enjoy getting paid for making art!
My congratulations to teachers everywhere, and I just wish I hadn't wasted 4 years (technically 5) learning to do something I'm not fit for....oh well, got it figured out now...*grin*
I'm currently single (not by choice), and in the process of looking for a man who fits the numerous criteria I've got....it's probably not going to happen, but a girl can dream, right? *grin*
I also had a kitten named Tigger. He was 2 years old, but unfortunately had some liver problems, and passed away October 21, 2001. He was like a son to me, and I miss him very much. See some pictures of him, and my other kittens Mungojerry and Rumpleteaser by clicking here.
Let's see...what else do you want to know...or does anyone care...hahaha
I like playing piano, but not practicing *grin*. This means that if it's assigned to me, I'm most likely not going to enjoy playing it...I love playing Meat Loaf stuff (some favorite songs on that page on here) and stuff from the movie, "The Piano". Pretty much anything that has a nice melody and not TOO many sharps and flats *laugh*. I also like to read...
As far as books go, I like Gordan Korman, the Anne of Green Gables series, any version of Phantom of the Opera (a very good one is by Susan Kay called "Phantom"; I highly recomend it), Gone With the Wind and Scarlett, and I must admit, historical romance novels (really good and funny one by Rebecca Paisley called Diamonds and Dreams). I’m also getting into the Dune series by Frank Herbert, and the Outlander series (to
die for) by Diana Gabaldon.
As for music, I like an eclectic mix- Cranberries, Meat Loaf (!!!), Weird Al Yankovic, The Bedlam Bards, Eifel 65, Simon and Garfunkel, Peter Paul and Mary, Blues Traveler, Ricky Martin, Kenny G, Beck, Ace of Base, Elton John, Prodigy, Billy Joel, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day, Boyz II Men, Brian Setzer, Big Mountain, Elvis, and Nine Inch Nails.....just to name a few...
