Hey, all. I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your kind words and encouragement on these pages. However, I've come into some really bad financial states lately, and am going to have to shut these pages down if I can't get some financial support from the viewers. I'm paying a lot of money per month to make sure there's enough disk space for all of the pictures and links, and enough bandwith for everyone to see it whenever they want. If you'd like to see these wedding pages continue to exist, please consider donating.
This page will detail all the preparations for, and details of, my wedding, which took place on April 21, 2001. I hope it helps others who are planning a fantasy/Scottish/Rennaisiance/Medieval wedding. And PLEASE, if anyone has any suggestions or links or anything I don't have here, please let me know....it would be very helpful!
My mother and I made my dress. Click on the link below to see what it looks like. I had fairy wings in place of a train or veil, and they were lovely! I have several sets of pictures back, and they're posted under Wedding Attire!
I did kind of a cross between Guinevere and Titiana (apparently, according to legend, Oberon was the son of Ceasar and Morgan LeFay). More Medieval, still with wings.
6/25/02 - Well, I'd like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and kind comments on this page. Unfortunately, while the wedding was pretty much perfect, the marriage wasn't, and Robert and I are now divorced. It's not as bad as it seems - we've parted on friendly terms; we just weren't meant to get married! Everything's for the best, though - that's my philosophy! I'm leaving this page up because I've had so many people email me to tell me how much the pics and info helped them plan their weddings. I'm still adding links to it as I find them - there are some great new ones under "wedding dresses" - check 'em out!
1/2/01 - I've got the material for my dress! It's a gorgeous cream colored satin with gold brocade roses! This will be used for the main part of the dress, and the inset will be a simple cream satin. My matron of honor's material is tone on tone green "brocade"ish satin. I have also finished all but one kilt and all of the shirts. My brother (who is going to be in my honor guard) tried it on, and he looked great! (Although he didn't like having to lie on the floor to put on the kilt!) There are pics of him on the Ceremony page!
My groom, Robert, wore a Great Kilt and a man's Leine. Our honor guard wore the same. I had a matron of honor, and Robert had a best man, and the only other attendants were 6 guys, who all carried swords and did the arch for us to walk under at the beginning and end of the ceremony, and kneeled in a semi-circle behind us (facing the officiant) during the ceremony.
New! I have created a Guidebook for Theme Weddings, focusing on the topics on this web page. This book has pictures and specific, detailed information on dress, hair, customs, and food, and includes recipes and a list of vendors whose businesses cater to Medieval, Renaissance, Celtic, Fantasy, Gothic, or Victorian eras. These books also make great gifts for the friend or relative who is planning a theme wedding! For ordering info, Click Here! [Note - my computer ate my guidebook! Please check back later when I might have this for sale again!] I also have opened my own store, selling custom jewelry - Necklaces, anklets, bracelets, earrings, and headdresses. To go to my store, which also has a link to my eBay auctions, Click Here! Any questions, please email
me!
Items with the yellow rose icon indicate products or services I'm actually using in my wedding.
Items with the green checkmark icon indicate products or services that I really like and/or can reccomend highly. This is not to say that links with no check aren't any good, but the ones with checks are something special!
