Starting out the official wedding party, here's Robert and our pastor Rachel, and the bagpiper.
Here's a shot of the honor guard. Hold those swords high, guys!
Here's my dad, Allen, escorting me. I'm trying not to cry becuase it's all so beautiful.
Here's a couple of shots of the ceremony in progress.
The previous series of pictures was of our unity cup (quaich) ceremony. Robert's grandmother and my grandmother took a silver pitcher and poured water into two cobalt blue toasting goblets with silver dragons on them. They handed the goblets to us, and we poured the water into a quaich, or Scottish cup. This symbolized our two familes, as well as the 2 of us, becoming one. We then drank to our past, present, and future happiness.
This is our handfasting ceremony. The preacher bound our hands together with a tartan sash which Robert was wearing. She then said a blessing, and explained how, as our hands were now bound, so should we be forever bound in matrimony. After this, we sealed our love with a kiss, and the sash was untied and pinned on me.
My matron of honor (and best friend) Jenny, myself and Robert, and the best man, Anthony.
Here we are trying not to cry!
The honor guard exits, forming the sword arch.
Here we are as newlyweds (!) being led under the sword arch by the bagpiper.
